Solid Control
EVAC
The Cyclone E-vac System represents a true advancement in downhole pump technology. Sand, grit, iron sulfide, and other fines which normally contaminate the produced oil and water can now quickly pass through the pump assembly. No longer are residual concentrations of these particulates allowed to collect between the barrel and plunger.
EVAC
The Cyclone E-VAC System is designed to address one of the most persistent challenges in pumping wells: the accumulation of damaging solids between the barrel and plunger. In conventional systems, small clearances allow fluid bypass, but also create a space where sand, formation fines, and other particulates can collect. Over time, this buildup leads to vertical scoring, accelerated wear, and increased friction across the pump assembly.
These conditions often result in stuck pumps, automatic shutdowns, or rod string failure. The operational impact includes increased well servicing, unplanned downtime, and higher replacement costs.
The E-VAC System introduces a different approach by actively removing solids from these critical areas during operation. During the downstroke, entrained particulates are directed inward through axial evacuation ports and into the center of the plunger, where they are carried into the tubing with produced fluids. At the same time, additional particulates are collected and redirected through the system, preventing accumulation in high-wear zones.
Radial ported vane technology within the system induces continuous rotational movement of fluids and solids. This rotation promotes more uniform wear across the barrel and plunger surfaces, reducing localized damage and extending pump life. When the pump is not in operation, settling solids are redirected away from sensitive areas, helping reduce the risk of stuck plungers and excessive wear during startup.
By reducing solids accumulation and improving wear distribution, the Cyclone E-VAC System supports more stable operation, fewer failures, and lower overall maintenance requirements. For best results, the complete Cyclone E-VAC System should be used as part of a fully integrated pump assembly.
